コミュニケーション欠如が、職場うつの主原因！？

ストレス解消に…１分で知る！　ストレス＆メンタルヘルスうつ病などの心の病を抱えた人が、会社の中で年々増えているそうです。

2006年に財団法人社会経済生産性本部メンタル・ヘルス研究所が行った「メンタルヘルスの取り組み」に関するアンケート調査の結果によれば、61.5％の企業が、心の病を抱える社員が増加傾向にあると回答。その割合は、2002年の48.9％に比べて約13ポイントも増加しているとのこと。(*1)
んー、個人的な実感とも合っていて、なんだか納得。

でも、なぜ増えているんでしょう。
同アンケートは原因を「職場のコミュニケーション不足」と指摘し、
職場でのコミュニケーションの機会が「減少した」と答えた企業が
そうでない企業に比べて
実に1.6倍もの頻度で「心の病が増加傾向」と回答したことを重視しています。(*1)

なるほど、うまくコミュニケーションがとれない職場にいると
心の病になりやすいのかも。
静かすぎて声も出せないような職場では、働いててつらいですもんね。

でも、冷め切ってしまった職場のコミュニケーションを回復するには
いったいどうしたら良いのでしょう？
さしせまって話す用事もないのに、今さら
「そういえばご趣味は？」なんて隣に話しかけるのもナンだし、
上司が「同僚とできるだけ話すようにしなさい」なんて言うのもヘンだし。

そこで一つの解決方法として、「ジグソーメソッド(*2)」をご提案しましょう。

これはアロンソン博士が1970年代に発表した、
学校の生徒間における人種差別的対立の画期的な解決法です。

生徒たちに試験勉強をさせるのですが、
合格するために必要な情報は、生徒それぞれに一部分ずつしか与えないようにします。
試験に合格するには、お互いに持っている情報を
教え合わなければならない状態を意図的に作り出すのです。

すると、生徒間の対立がなくなって協力関係が生まれたばかりか、
友情が深まり、自尊心が高まり、
さらには学校への好意が強まって、成績も上がりました。(*3)
おお～、いいことづくめですね。

この方法の良い点は、「試験勉強」のように
目的が利己的でも通用するところ。
「評価主義」でピリピリしているビジネス現場にも、
くふう次第で十分に応用できそう。

やろうと思えば、生きるためのすべての情報を一人で集められる現代。
でも、円滑なコミュニケーションを保つためには
分からないことをわざわざ作ってでも、
誰かにたずねて協力をあおぐ姿勢が大切なのかもしれません。
